Born July 4, 1947 in Yerevan.
Graduated from the Faculty of Cybernetics, Yerevan Polytechnical Institute.
Specialty - Engineer-Mathematician.
Candidate of Physical-Mathematical Sciences, Senior Lecturer. 1976-1980 - Worked as an Engineer-Mathematician in a laboratory in Dubna Nuclear researches joint institute, Russian Federation. 1980 - Moved back to Yerevan and took up the position of the Head of a research group in the Yerevan Institute of Physics. Since 1970 - Member of the Communist party. 1982 - Was elected Secretary of the Communist party Committee of the Institute of Physics. Since January 1991 - First Secretary of the Yerevan City Committee of the Communist Party of Armenia. Since July 1991 also Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist party of Armenia. In September 1991 in the 29th Congress of the Communist party of Armenia, was elected Coordinator of the party with a status of the Secretary of the Communist party of Armenia. 1994 - Badalian was elected First Secretary of the Communist party of Armenia. 1995 - Was elected Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. Is the leader of the NA faction of Communists. Has been elected also Chairman of the Union of National-Patriotic Forces of Armenia. |
