OF ACTIVITIES FOR PREPARATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE EARLY PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

FIRST ROUND

DEADLINE
1. Supreme bodies of parties (party blocs) submit their resolutions on nomination of candidates for Presidency to the Central Election Commission February 17 - February 20 (6 p.m.)
2.
  • Receiving an official register from the CEC for nomination of candidates on a civic initiative procedure.
  • Documents necessary for nominating candidates on a civic initiative procedure have to be submitted to the CEC.
 Starting from February 17   

Not later than 6 p.m. of February 20
3. The official registers for supporting of candidates’ nomination are handed over to parties (party blocs) and authorized representatives of initiators’ groups Starting from February 22
4. Documents on nomination of candidates for Presidency have to be submitted to the CEC. Not later than 6 p.m. of March 1
5. Necessary documents for detained persons nominated to candidacy for President to be submitted to the CEC. Feb 17 - Feb 18, not later than 6 p.m.
6. Registration of candidates for Presidency March 1-March 6
7. Circulation of a public announcement on registration of candidates for Presidency. Not later than March 7
8. Formation of community and precinct election commissions Not later than February 19
9. The first session of community and precinct election commissions Not later than 12 o’clock of February 20
10. Pre-election campaign for candidates of Presidency Starts with the completion of registration of all the candidates, the next day and ends up at 12 midnight of March 15

 Lists of militaries and those having military training to be submitted to the Chairmen of regional election commissions Not later than March 8
12 The day and time of the election of the Republic’s President March 16, 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
13 Summarization of initial results by the regional election commissions, making them public and their official submission to the CEC Not later than 10 p.m. of March 18
14 The Central Election Commission announces the initial results of the election Not later than 10 a.m. of March 19
15 The Chairmen of regional election commissions submit the election’s final protocols to the CEC Not later than March 21 (including the day pointed out)
16 Official announcement of final results by the Central Election Commission Not later than March 23 (including the day pointed out)
17 The candidates for Presidency submit to the CEC their declarations on how they have spent their pre-election funds March 17 - April 17

1. The day and time of the second round of the election of the Republic’s President March 30, 1988

2. Summarization of initial results by the regional election commissions, and their official submission to the CEC Not later than April 1, 1998, 10 p.m.
3. Summarization of initial results by the Central Election Commission Not later than April 2, 1998, 10 a.m.
4. Summarization of final results by the regional election commissions and official submission of the election’s final protocols to the CEC Not later than April 4, 1988
5. Summarization of final results by the Central Election Commission Not later than April 6, 1988
