UNDER CONSTRUCTION

This site is still under construction. Currently it provides information for software developers and webmasters about status of Armenian enabling in Mozilla and some auxilliary files.

First of all, please take a look at this document: Armenian Character Sets: Implementation Guide and give your comments. It is supposed to become an RFC.

I also need help in collecting links to web sites in Armenian (ArmSCII-8, of course).

Currently only windows and UNIX versions of Mozilla support ArmSCII-8, so we need help on Mac and possibly OS/2. Here are files you may need to test Mozilla with Armenian support:

  • ArmNH.ttf - "ArmNet Helvetica" Uni-coded font for Windows
  • ArialArm.pfb - Arial Armenian, Type1 armscii-8 font for UNIX (-mozilla-arialarmenian-regular-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-armscii-8)
  • Test.html - Test page with Armenian text (charset=armscii-8)

Current Mozilla source can be found on our ftp server (build insrtuctions inside):

Latest updates of this source code are made through CVS. Detailed instructions are given in www.mozilla.org/cvs.html. These files too are on our ftp server:

Please, send local comments and suggestions to standards@freenet.am (Armenian Standards discussion list) or hovik@undp.am.
